In 1999 the National Housing and Town Planning Council (NHTPC) merged with the Housing Centre Trust and became "ROOM". On 28 August 2002 it merged with the RTPI.
One of the purposes of the NHTPC, and its successor body "ROOM", was to bring politicians and professionals, the public and the private sectors and developers, service providers and planners together. It further sought to encourage debate and dialogue through appropriate forums where experiences could be shared, practice improved and policy developed – recognising the reliance housing and regeneration initiatives have on the spatial planning system
ROOM@RTPI have set out 4 events for 2016, with the emphasis on master classes to explore current housing issues facing the region, together with opportunities for networking
