CIH Council Members - 2008/09
CIH's work is directed by our members through a 32-strong National Council chaired by our elected President. We also have a network of nine voluntary Regional Groups across England, one in the Asian Pacific and three National Boards directing our work in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. Members from across this network are elected to sit on our National Council, in addition to other Council members elected by our wider membership. National Council members serve for a period of three years and can then stand for re-election. Our President, Vice President and Treasurer are elected for one year each June.
CIH's National Council meets four times a year and is supported by seven Boards:
- Management Board: oversees the strategic direction and financial control of our organisation;
- National Boards for Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland: direct the work of CIH in each of these countries;
- Professional Development Board: oversees our membership, education, training and event activities;
- Policy and Professional Practice Board: oversees our policy development, research and professional practice work; and
- International Board: oversees our growing international work.
Council representatives also sit on the Boards of two of our subsidiaries - ConsultCIH and HouseMark.
Our Annual General Meeting is usually held in June at our Annual Conference and Exhibition in Harrogate. All members are very welcome to attend.
