Value for money tool

Monitor and commission your housing support services

It is vital that you are able to demonstrate that your services provide value for money and are strategically relevant. Our value for money tool will help commissioners and providers to demonstrate the value of housing-related support and supported housing services.

What is it?

The VFM tool is part of a robust suite of e-products designed to help housing support commissioners deal with the challenges of budget cuts, efficiency savings and focus diminishing resources on key needs and priorities.

This web-based tool enables you to analyse and explore various ‘what-if’ scenarios, to help with the monitoring and commissioning of housing-related support services. Taking into account desired savings levels and the parameters of acceptable price, quality and performance, the tool can instantly identify those services which are potential candidates for decommissioning, service remodelling or reprocurement.

Who is it for?

If you're a local authority or housing association involved in commissioning or providing care and support services, this tool will enable you to:

  • Make best use of existing data to inform performance management of commissioned services
  • Understand and benchmark existing quality, performance and service costs, locally, regionally and nationally
  • Provide concise, user-friendly ‘dashboard’ style reports for Boards and other key stakeholders
  • Offer your providers access to live performance data about their own services, plus benchmarking data on similar services locally, regionally and nationally

How does it work?

The VFM tool offers up-to-the-minute (as live as your latest uploaded data set) reports on service performance, quality, service price and outcomes. You can also set targets for service type and client group, track individual service performance and produce an overall value for money score for a service, if required.

How can we help you?

If you're a local authority or housing association involved in commissioning or providing care and support services, this tool will enable you to:

  • Make best use of existing data to inform performance management of commissioned services
  • Understand and benchmark existing quality, performance and service costs, locally, regionally and nationally
  • Provide concise, user-friendly ‘dashboard’ style reports for Boards and other key stakeholders
  • Offer your providers access to live performance data about their own services, plus benchmarking data on similar services locally, regionally and nationally
