Studying by distance learning means that you do not need to attend a college one day a week, instead you can work at home at a pace which suits you and your lifestyle. You will be linked to one of our regional centres around the country who will support you while you study.

Dan Roberts, a housing advisor at Cambridge City Council, received the prestigious CIH Distance Learning Student of the Year award, for outstanding performance in studying for the Postgraduate Diploma in Housing.

Dan said: “This is an exciting time to be in housing and my aim is to put the skills I have learned on the Postgraduate Diploma course towards meeting the challenges that are ahead".

Level 3 Certificate in Housing is a one year course which is split into a number of pathways.

Q. What is Distance Learning?

A. Studying by Distance Learning means that you do not need to attend a college one day a week. You will be linked to a Regional Centre who will appoint a tutor to provide support for you over the telephone and by e.mail. You will have access to resources from home allowing you to learn in way to suit your lifestyle.

Q. When can I start a course?

A. We have 2 intakes a year in March (now passed) and September. In addition to this we have started a new course with CIOB (Chartered Institute of Building) with an in take this November.

Q. I am not working in housing, can I do a course?

A. Yes but you will need a placement with a housing organisation before applying for the course.

HOW TO APPLY

Before you apply for a course, you need to decide on:

  • the course you are interested in
  • if you have any previous qualifications which will count towards the qualification you are interested in
  • when you can begin studying

FEES & FUNDING

Company sponsored students will need to provide a signed declaration from their employer with the application form.

Self sponsored students can pay in instalments.
