Self-financing is here. For the 160+ authorities with council housing, the new system will give the opportunity for the first time to develop a long-term and effective business plan for their housing, developed locally with local people to address local priorities.
The move to housing revenue account (HRA) self-financing for local authorities represents a fundamental change to the way in which council housing is financed and with this comes risk and opportunities. This event will explore the opportunities and options as to councils can work, either alone or in partnership with RP colleagues, to provide affordable housing under the new system.
During this half day practical event, we will be identifying new methods of delivery of new affordable homes and regeneration, address the different options for delivery and also hear from a local authority on how they are looking to provide housing for their communities.
