Benefits of attending
Social housing organisations view succession planning as one of the most vital issues effecting the sector at present. How do we sell ourselves as a sector to attract the next generation of housing professional?
We as a sector now compete with a whole host of private and public sector career paths, to the point where young people face a saturated and confusing job market. It is important that housing constantly thinks of innovative ways to promote itself and attract the right people.
Flagship Housing Group have actively highlighted this as a major problem in the Eastern region, which has an ageing housing workforce. As a response, they created the Bright Futures programme to attract young people and reward them with qualifications and degree level apprenticeships.
Emma Palmer will talk through the programme, succession planning and creating future leaders for the housing sector by the housing sector. She will discuss how Flagship is reinvigorating housing as a career and delivering technical housing expertise alongside the requirements of a modern commercial business and why it is important to capture the interest of the best candidates in their formative career years.
