The Chartered Institute of Housing is the independent voice for housing and the home of professional standards

Repairs & Maintenance Conference & Exhibition 2019

22-23 May, Hilton at St George's Park, Burton Upon Trent

About the event

Maintaining good quality homes, demonstrating they are safe and secure

The housing sector has been set a challenge; to demonstrate that we provide safe, secure homes of good quality, that are well run and that support people in leading successful lives.

Repair, maintenance and asset management professionals need to play a pivotal role in getting our house in order. This means changing and improving our culture, strategy and practical approaches for repairing, maintaining and improving the homes we provide. It also means overhauling how we go about demonstrating and accounting to customers for our performance.

At CIH, we are committed to supporting housing professionals to face this challenge head on and our Repairs & Maintenance Conference & Exhibition 2019 is here to help. Our event has been designed to tackle the key issues, drive forward the debate and help generate the range of ideas, tools, techniques and solutions you need to bring about the changes needed.

Benefits of attending

Through a packed programme of interactive plenary and breakout sessions featuring industry experts, thought leaders and practitioners we will consider how best to:

• Deliver and demonstrate full compliancy – providing assurance that homes are safe and secure

• Go about updating or replacing the Decent Homes Standard with something that is fully fit for purpose for the 2020s

• Empower residents so they can properly hold us to account for our performance in repairing, maintaining and improving their homes

• Measure and test the repair, maintenance outcomes that are truly important, not just to residents but also for the building asset

• Put in place an affordable, long term sustainable repairs and maintenance service offer

Who should attend

The conference is aimed at those who have a responsibility for putting in place and delivering all aspects of repairs and maintenance. Attendees in previous years have had job titles Asset Manager, Repairs Manager, Operations Director, Senior Project Coordinator, Director of Property Services, Asset Management and Development Director, Operations Manager, Reactive Repairs & Voids Repairs Logistics Manager, Buildings Operations Manager and many more.
