North East Regional Conference and Exhibition
About the event
The CIH North East conference is the region’s biggest and best housing event and attracts around 200 professionals across two days.
The 2017 event comes at a challenging and unpredictable time, when our role in our communities is more important than ever.
Taking place hot on the heels of the government's announcement that it will conduct a review of social housing and coming just days before the Budget, our packed programme will examine all of the major challenges facing housing organisations and explore how the sector can respond – from how we cope with the implications of welfare reform and changes to regulation, to how we continue to deliver great customer services.
Our North East conference gives you the chance to come together with hundreds of fellow housing professionals from your region to learn from the experts, join the debate and help to shape the sector’s response to the unique challenges we face in the North East.
The conference dinner is a great opportunity to network with people in the industry in a relaxed atmosphere. This is a chance to entertain your most important clients and entertainment this year will be provided by Guy Browning.
Benefits of attending

- Meet and network with exhibitors showcasing the latest products and services.
- Join more than 150 guests at the annual networking dinner with an appearance from after dinner speaker Guy Browning.
- Gain eight hours towards your continuing professional development if you are a CIH member.

On each day a selection of interactive master classes will offer delegates the opportunity to hear best practice from organisations who are celebrating success in the North East region. Interactive sessions will include:

• The leadership of the future
• Supported housing
• Approaches to poverty
This year we will also be featuring more ‘unconference’ sessions, which will give delegates the opportunity to lead debate and foster discussions in the areas they want to know more about. These sessions are very much led by delegates, though some starting points will include:
• Welfare reform
• Maintenance issues
• Customer issues
• Customer data
