Rent arrears management

About the event

To ensure housing organisations remain financially viable, it is vital  that tenants receive assistance with welfare challenges, such as universal credit. It is equally important for organisations to have an effective income collection system to help tenants find better ways to pay rent and to mitigate the risk of rent arrears. With universal credit being rolled out in most areas by early 2015, tenants are already required to adjust their budget to account for the benefit cap.

This event will showcase organisations that have developed a plan to take action to manage rent arrears and mitigate risk. It will include sessions on providing debt management options for tenants and a legal update. By attending this event, delegates will examine how payment processes and rent collection can be improved to maximise income.  Attendees will receive insights from those at the forefront of dealing with the impact and challenges of rent arrears. Speakers will share best practice examples of providing debt advice, the implications for rent arrears following universal credit, maximising income and much more.

Who should attend

This one day event is aimed at practitioners who provide benefits advice to customers and will be beneficial to people in the following roles: Senior Benefits Officer, Income Managers, Housing Managers, Housing Officers, Tenancy Support Officers and front line staff as well as professionals in a housing advice role.

The delegate price includes a comprehensive delegate pack, debrief summary report after the event, all refreshments and lunch. You will also earn up to 4 hours towards your CIH Continual Professional Development if you are a CIH Member.
When making a booking the booker will be asked if they are paying as an individual or as part of an organisation. If paying as part as an organisation credit/debit card payments can be taken online at the time of booking or the booker can select to be invoiced after the online booking. If the booker selects to be invoiced the delegate will receive an invoice for payment after the online booking is completed. Please note all invoices must be fully paid before the event takes place. If paying as an individual, please note a full payment of the total amount by credit/debit card is required at the time of booking.
