Benefits of attending
Supporting career development is now one of the top talent attraction and retention drivers for employers. Employees in the housing sector are no different and are looking for opportunities that build career satisfaction, flexibility and opportunities to grow.
In this interactive session David and Rosemary will share findings from Career Innovation’s (Ci) latest research looking at ‘Careers in the 21st Century’ which puts a spotlight on some of the trends impacting on careers and how organisations are responding.
The session is aimed at HR and learning and development leads who are looking to consider a strategy that would support internal development and mobility, and staff engagement.
Based on Ci’s practical experience of providing consulting support to employers you’ll be introduced to a ‘career strategy framework’ and how this is different (but complementary) to a talent management strategy. Key components include:
- Clarifying and articulating what is the career proposition for employees/recruits so you can answer the question? I want to build my career here, where does the organisation stand on this?’
- Helping employees have visibility of opportunities; how to describe the varied career and professional career journeys, and experiences needed to reach destination roles
- Helping employees to develop ‘change readiness’ and other vital career management skills
- Equipping managers and employees to have positive career and development conversations
- Fostering 70.20.10 approaches to real time learning
You’ll also learn more about how the CIH CiZone career portal and how ‘Be Bold in Your Career’ the online careers course is helping CIH members invigorate their career development, unleash their potential and build the skills to ‘future proof their careers’. Many housing associations have been actively promoting this course to their employees.
