CIH Homes & Communities Conference 2018
Creating healthy neighbourhoods
CIH Homes and Communities 2018 builds on the health and housing theme of our recent conferences to look at the broader issues and challenges in developing homes and sustainable communities across the island of Ireland. The event offers the opportunity to come together with fellow housing professionals from Ireland, Northern Ireland and Britain.
What will we be covering?
Join us on 20 and 21 September and hear from experts in housing and communities through a mixture of plenary and breakout sessions.
Day one will consider the built environment including housing and infrastructure and the impact this can have on people's quality of life. We will hear how collaboration and partnership working can impact on reducing homelessness.
Day two will focus on the economy and current and future issues including around Brexit. We will consider what the future of social housing might look like as the sector embraces new practices, including changes to workplace culture and its impact on residents and improved efficiencies.
Plenary sessions will include:
- Rethinking social housing
- Reducing homelessness through partnerships and collaboration
- The economy in focus
- Future gazing
- What does a 21st century provider look like?
Breakout sessions will include:
- Reclassification - the big issues, north and south
- Regeneration and development
- Understanding housing aspirations: expectations and choice
- Approaches to meeting client needs
- Domestic abuse: it's your business
- Personal reflections - leading teams
- Securing your systems
- Why diversify?
