28th June 2007, Manchester
All landlords are reliant on rental income to secure the future of their organisations; rent arrears levels are affected by a wide range of drivers from changes in the personal circumstances of tenants, through customer care issues to national changes such as those in entitlement to housing benefit.
The Pre-action Protocol came into effect in October 2006 and this event will look at how this has affected those working in rent arrears and the impacts it may have in the future. The event will also allow you to have questions you have regarding the protocol answered.
As levels of rent arrears continue to increase nationwide this event will also look at getting rent arrears procedures right, and how to prevent arrears from occurring. The day will demonstrate how, by implementing financial inclusion initiatives such as income maximisation and joined up thinking across all housing management functions your organisation can tackle not just the problems of rent arrears but financial exclusion as a whole.
This event will combine good practice examples with the opportunity to hear from experts in the field of rent arrears making it an event not to be missed!
This one day event is aimed at those professionals responsible for rent and rent arrears management, evaluation of payment options and those advising tenants on debt management. This seminar may also be of interest to staff working in benefits services.
