Homelessness and the Economy

Brighton Race Course
15th July 2009
Booking Code: 2519884

About the Event

The effective prevention of homelessness remains at the heart of the government’s work. Communities and Local Government is working with other government departments to ensure services are targeted at the most vulnerable groups to prevent homelessness and improve access to services and opportunities but there are still big challenges ahead.

This one-day event will provide an overview of the progress made in a number of homelessness policy areas, with a particular focus on the South East region. The day will feature plenty of practical advice and guidance on the effective prevention of homelessness.

The event will examine the economic issues affecting homelessness and how to cope with the increasing demand for social housing in the current financial climate. We will present case studies to illustrate the crisis many families face, we will share best practice and clarify the legislation to help you understand the options available so that you can safely inform your customers.

You will have plenty of opportunities to ask questions to the speakers and raise any concerns that you wish to discuss.
