Margaret Blackwood Excellence in Housing Innovation Award sponsored by Blackwood
This award is aimed at programmes or projects which can clearly demonstrate how they have developed an innovative approach which has made a real difference to the lives of tenants and customers. This could be any new product, service or technology – being able to demonstrate innovation is the key. Submissions should be able to demonstrate that they have fulfilled the following criteria:
• Have used an innovative approach(es) to solve a particular housing problem
• They can clearly evidence success in either improvement of customer satisfaction levels or have improved the lives of people in the community where the organisation works.
Who is eligible?
The award is open to all housing organisations and suppliers to the housing sector in Scotland, as well as community and tenants organisations. To be eligible, projects or initiatives should have taken place in Scotland and commenced within the last 24 months. Please note that you are able to enter for more than one category if the submission is relevant.
How to apply
Entrants must complete the on-line submission form. They should include a maximum of 1000 words on the project, which should be structured around the criteria set out above. Other supporting documents such as key reports may also be submitted as appendices to the main document. This submission will provide the basis for both short-listing and the final decision on the winning entry.
The award winner will be announced at the CIH Scotland Excellence Awards Dinner on Friday 11 November at the Glasgow City Hotel. The winner will receive a commemorative trophy.
This award is kindly sponsored by Blackwood
Blackwood is a long established not-for-profit organisation delivering homes, care and support services across Scotland.
Many of our customers live with physical disability, mobility or other difficulties which mean they need highly accessible and adaptable homes with a flexible and responsive personal service.
Blackwood takes inspiration from our founder, Dr Margaret Blackwood MBE, who over 40 years ago demonstrated the pioneering spirit we want to be known for today. She insisted that her disability should not stop her achieving great things and that technology played an important part in enabling her to be independent.
Through our innovation, design and development of products and services, we continue Dr Blackwood’s legacy of helping people live their lives to the full.
