Margaret Vass Award for Excellence in Frontline Housing supported by Weslo Housing Management
This award was created to celebrate the achievements of individual housing officers. The winner will have excelled in the management and delivery of everyday tasks which are too often overlooked but are essential to the success of social housing providers. Applicable skills could include: arrears management, void management, preventing or dealing with anti-social behaviour, tenancy sustainment, homelessness or associated activities, such as housing options advice. The successful nominee will be able to demonstrate success in one or more of the following criteria:
- Making a positive difference to the lives of tenants/applicants
- Continually striving to improve the tenant/applicants experience and themselves
- Excellent understanding of the business of delivering housing services, maximising income, supporting organisational improvement and making best use of partnership working
Who is eligible?
This award is open to all housing officers working in Scotland. The housing organisation can be a local authority, registered social landlord or other not-for-profit organisation involved in the housing sector. Team leaders and managers are not eligible for this award.
How to enter & judging
To enter you will be asked to complete an on-line submission form. Nominees can be nominated by a colleague, manager, board member, or someone else who knows their contribution well.
Entries must include an 800 word statement outlining the nominee’s virtues and merits and evidencing how they demonstrate excellence in working in frontline housing based on the criteria set out above.
Judges will look favourably on entries which address more than the minimum number of criteria.
Be sure to send in your nominations by the closing date: Friday 8 September 2017 at 16:00. Nominations will not be accepted after this date.
The winner will be announced and the award presented at the CIH Scotland Excellence Awards Dinner on Friday 27 October 2017 at Murrayfield Stadium, Edinburgh. The winner will receive a trophy kindly donated by Margaret Vass.
