Fire safety

You can find all of our fire safety resources for housing professionals here. The legislative and good practice information in the briefings reflects the time they were published, but following the horrendous events at Grenfell Tower we'll be working with the government, social landlords and housing organisations to make sure that lessons are learned from this tragedy. We'll also be looking at how we can strengthen the sector’s understanding by updating our advice and support. You can find the latest communications from the Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG) and the Homes and Communities Agency regarding the fire here too.

DCLG explanatory note on large scale cladding systems testing

Letter to councils and housing associations on fire safety checks from DCLG

Letter to private landlords on fire safety checks from DCLG
