How much does membership cost?
The fee you pay depends on what time of the year you join, the grade of membership you're applying for and whether you are based in the UK or overseas.
The fee schedules below provide information on the cost of membership, proportional fees and HMRC tax relief if you pay your own professional fees:
Pay by direct debit
You can spread your membership payments over a number of months at no extra cost. You can set this up online or by calling us on 024 7685 1700. Direct debits can be taken according to the following schedule options:
- Annually (January)
- Half-yearly (January and July)
- Quarterly (January, April, July and October)
- 10 monthly instalments (January to October inclusive)
Please note the months above may vary in your first year of membership depending on when you join. To start paying by direct debit download a direct debit mandate.

Tax relief on your membership fees
If you pay for your own CIH membership, you may be able to reclaim tax on the cost of your membership.
