The CIH mentoring scheme is designed to support members to explore their career possibilities and identify relevant development opportunities, guided by a qualified and experienced colleague from the housing sector. Please note that this scheme is only available to all paying members. It is envisaged that the mentoring period will last for about one year (maximum).
What is mentoring?
Mentoring is a voluntary relationship between a mentor and a mentee, set over a period of one year (maximum). A mentoring relationship allows the mentee to gain access to objective knowledge, experience and advice from someone usually more experienced than themselves, and to explore their career objectives and professional development goals. With the CIH mentoring scheme, you're encouraged to set specific objectives for the mentoring relationship. Mentoring can take place face-to-face, by phone, skype or by email.
How do I find out more?
CIH members: The CIH mentoring scheme is coordinated through CiZone, our online career development tool. Make sure you're logged in to MyCIH with your member account, then select 'Scenarios' within CiZone to find out more about entering into a mentoring partnership or becoming a mentor.
