The National Housing Federation and the Chartered Institute of Housing (East Midlands & West Midlands Branches) have started a major campaign to bring additional housing investment to the Midlands. In the run up to the government’s Comprehensive Spending Review in 2007, we will be producing a major research report, developing a housing ‘manifesto’ and rolling out a series of compelling campaign activities aimed at influencing ministers and senior civil servants of our case. There will be a number of key milestone events and constant promotion to the media and to regional MPs, regional government agencies and other important policy influencers. We believe this is a golden opportunity to increase investment in our region and help our economy grow. Too often in the past the Midlands has not secured the funding it needs to meet housing need in the region and to support strong growth in our economy.
