Housing teams urged to take part in charity rounders tournament for Women's Aid

Housing teams are being urged to take part in a national rounders tournament to raise £10k for Women’s Aid.

The CIH Futures group is organising a bumper rounders tournament to support president Alison Inman’s 2018 chosen charity.

The contest will see four heats take place across the UK In May and June before a grand final in July.

Teams can set their own fundraising targets connected to Women’s Aid and start raising money for the cause. The minimum donation to take part is £150 per team.

Cheryl Tracy, from CIH Futures, who is also head of neighbourhoods at Monmouthshire Housing Association, said: “This is set to be a fantastic event which gives people who work in housing the chance to come together, have fun and raise money for a fantastic cause.

“Women’s Aid does crucial work to support domestic abuse victims and we really want to make a big contribution.

“We want to give everyone the chance to take part and the regional heats mean housing professionals from across the UK can get involved before our grand final in July.

“We hope to see lots of teams join us and we’re also looking for organisations to sponsor our events so that we can raise as much as possible for this great cause.”

The heats will take place as follows:

  • 18 May, Merseyside Police Sports and Social Club, Liverpool
  • 23 May, Cardiff University Sports Fields Site, Cardiff
  • 17 June, Kings House Sports Ground, London
  • TBC, Scotland

The final will take place in the West Midlands in July.
