The Chartered Institute of Housing is the independent voice for housing and the home of professional standards

91 per cent of CIH ‘Learning 2 Let’ graduates report increased knowledge in issues relating to their role as a private landlord or letting agent

A new in-depth interim report into ‘Learning 2 Let’ – a certified training programme for private landlords and letting agents developed by the Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH), with the support of the Department for Communities – reveals a very high level of satisfaction amongst learners who have completed the course to date.

  • 100 per cent of respondents agreed that the content on the Learning 2 Let programme was appropriate and relevant to their needs and professional requirements
  • 73 per cent of respondents stated their primary reason for taking part in Learning 2 Let was simply to ‘expand their knowledge’
  • 25 per cent of respondents stated their primary reason for taking part was to ‘clarify their responsibilities as a landlord / letting agent’.

Regarding the training programme itself, responses indicated a high level of satisfaction amongst learners across the board:

  • 100 per cent of respondents agreed that the content covered across each module was appropriate, beneficial, and relevant
  • 72 per cent of respondents felt the three day course delivery format was preferable, largely on the basis that it offered more opportunities for interaction amongst participants, including more time for coffee breaks which were deemed to be excellent opportunities for networking
  • 71 per cent of respondents stated that they received support both from CIH as well as tutors, whenever required
  • 30 per cent of respondents said they did not find the assignments difficult to complete, with nine per cent finding them ‘very easy’, and 21 per cent finding them ‘quite easy’
  • 91 per cent of all respondents stated that the training received through Learning 2 Let has increased their knowledge in issues relating to their role as a landlord or letting agent, with 85 per cent confirming that they have been able to apply the new knowledge gained from the training.
