Procurement manager wins housing heroes award

A Procurement Manager from AdvantageSW – Neil Biddiscombe – has won a prestigious prize at the UK Housing Heroes Awards in London today.

The awards were established in 2009 to recognise and celebrate the achievements of the many unsung heroes working in the housing sector.

Neil won the Inspirational Leader of the Year Award for his leadership, project management and communication skills in his role of Procurement Manager for AdvantageSW. Neil’s hard work has led to considerable savings for the consortium as well as the design and implementation of contracts resulting in almost 100 per cent usage in contract take-up.

Neil Biddiscombe received his award at the Hilton Hotel from BBC TV personality Ben Fogle. In total, awards were presented in 15 different categories in an event organised jointly by the Chartered Institute of Housing and Inside Housing magazine.

The Chartered Institute of Housing’s Kathy Hanson said: "Neil is a true asset to AdvantageSW. His hard work, commitment and experience is paying dividends for tenants’ in Devon as more investment can be made to their homes as a result of savings of almost £6m on a spend of £28m".
