Three new directors to join the Chartered Institute of Housing

Three new directors have been appointed at the Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH).

Jeff James, Janet Talman and Judy Waugh are joining CIH as part of a growth strategy announced earlier this year.

Jeff James, who is currently Director of Operations and Services at The National Archives, will be taking up his new role as Director of Operations/Deputy Chief Executive at the end of June, while Janet Talman, currently Director of Sales at RIBA Enterprises, will be taking up the post of Director of Commercial Services in July, and Judy Waugh, currently Head of Membership and Careers at the Royal Town Planning Institute, will join as Director of Membership and Education on June 4.

CIH chief executive Grainia Long said: “I am delighted to announce the appointment of three highly talented new directors to complement and complete the CIH's Executive Team. Housing is facing major tests and I’m confident their expertise and experience will ensure that housing professionals are equipped with the knowledge and resources they need. They will play a vital role in ensuring we deliver our plans to enhance our offer to members, grow our professional network and promote and protect professional standards.”

Jeff James said: “I am thrilled to be joining CIH at this pivotal time for both the organisation and the industry. I look forward to working collaboratively with colleagues, partners and members in shaping and delivering CIH’s ambitious plans for transformation and growth, ensuring that the needs of members and customers are at the heart of this strategy.”

Janet Talman said: “It is a privilege to be given this opportunity. CIH is clearly a passionate organisation, setting the highest industry standards, committed to developing membership and ensuring all housing professionals are properly trained and equipped to fulfil their responsibilities. I look forward to identifying new commercial opportunities within the housing industry which meet the needs of our members and customers alike.”

Judy Waugh said: “I am looking forward to joining such an influential organisation as CIH. I strongly believe in the important role that a professional body can play in supporting its members throughout their careers and ensuring that all stakeholders can rely on a highly skilled, ethical and responsive profession. I am excited about the potential for CIH to grow its membership and deliver high-quality services.”
