Ticking the box for housing: first poll results

We asked our member election panel what they think would be the best ways to increase the number of new homes we build - check out our infographic and listen to our podcast to find out the results.

As part of our Ticking the box for housing campaign, which is urging all parties to make housing a top priority ahead of the general election 2015, we invited CIH members to sign up to our new member election panel and take part in regular polls between now and the election.

More than 300 people have joined the panel so far - if you'd like to sign up, get in touch now.

You can see the results of our first poll below, and listen to director of policy and practice Gavin Smart's podcast for more details.

  • ?Perhaps no great surprises here from the CIH panel members but it is interesting that the Labour Party's proposals outlined yesterday focused on the very sector (market renting) that is deemed to be our lowest priority in supply terms. Is Miliband just going where he thinks the floating votes are, or do we as a sector still have a bit of work to do in convincing the politicians of where housing priorities should lie?

  • Thanks for your comment Glyn. We're asking the panel about Labour's plans for market renting now, so we should have some more results to share in a couple of weeks time.
