UK Housing Awards 2016 - the winners

After a fantastic evening celebrating success and innovation in our sector, it's time to congratulate the winners once more.

The 13 categories received some outstanding entries, from accredited training for meaningful employment to warm home discount events. The judges said: "The finalists this year were incredibly diverse, representing some of the largest and smallest landlords in the sector, and between them meet a huge variety of different needs." (quote taken from Inside Housing magazine)

The final winners were announced on Tuesday (26 April) at the event, which was also celebrating its 20th anniversary.

  • Outstanding new developer of the year: Eastbourne Borough Council (Housing & economic development partnership)
  • Outstanding local authority of the year: Manchester City Council (Manchester veterans village)
  • Outstanding landlord of the year: Horton Housing Association (Providing quality housing, support and training)
  • Outstanding development programme of the year: emh Group (Group development programme)
  • Outstanding campaign of the year: Viridian Housing (No home for domestic abuse)
  • An outstanding approach to tenant involvement: Pickering and Ferens Homes (The PFH budget roadshow)
  • An outstanding approach to tackling anti-social behaviour: Peabody (Domestic abuse housing alliance)
  • An outstanding approach to repairs and maintenance: Golding Homes (Effective community investment)
  • An outstanding approach to meeting specialist housing needs: East Thames (Beverley Lewis House)
  • An outstanding approach to leadership and diversity: Nottingham City Homes (Women in construction initiative)
  • An outstanding approach to innovation: The Extracare Charitable Trust (Locksmiths)
  • An outstanding approach to income management: Futures Homescape (Income and money advice team)
  • An outstanding approaching to promoting home ownership: Newlon Housing (New affordable home ownership in London)
