The Rt Hon Iain Duncan Smith MP will be the guest of honour at the Chartered Institute of Housing’s annual Presidential Dinner on 10 February.
The event is held at the Natural History Museum in London and brings together over 600 leaders from the housing sector.
Mr Duncan Smith, who is ex-leader of the Conservative Party, is founder and chairman of the think tank the Centre for Social Justice. The independent policy group believes that social housing must do more to help disadvantaged people out of poverty rather than reinforce their dependency. The MP experienced life in social housing first hand for the current Channel 4 programme ‘Tower Block of Commons’, where he spent eight days and nights on the Carpenters estate in Stratford, East London.
