John Perry, CIH Policy Adviser, is based in Nicaragua where in addition to CIH work he voluntarily co-ordinates projects for small farmers in the rural areas around the city of Masaya. He works with a local community-based organisation, called ADIC, and provides regular updates on this page. The CIH Presidential Appeal in 1998/99 originally raised £70,000 for a housing project but since then the work has diversified into various types of ‘alternative infrastructure’, especially installing solar panels in areas which have no electricity. Below are the links to the progress bulletins (latest at the top) and also a link to enable readers to make an online donation.
