Meet your CIH regional manager

Steph KelleyCIH is pleased to introduce you to the regional manager supporting members and organisations locally. Stephanie Kelley represents CIH within the North East, North West and Yorkshire & Humberside.

Whilst Stephanie is new to us at CIH, she has spent the past 12 years working in the social housing sector, most recently as a policy analyst for Gentoo Group. But during her career she’s held a number of positions from operational front line housing management to strategic policy and planning. So it’s fair to say she knows a thing or two about housing!

Stephanie said “I am absolutely delighted to have been appointed as the Regional Manager for the North. Being a northern lass myself, I am passionate about the regions I represent. I hope that with my professional expertise and passion for the sector I will be well placed to grow the CIH local offer, represent members, the Boards and the wider sector whilst also vocalising regional issues at a national level.

I would love to hear from you, whether it is to tell me about things we at CIH could do better, or if you’re interested in membership or becoming a member champion or even if you just want to know more about what we do then please get in touch with me. “

You’ll begin to see lots of regional information being populated on this page over the coming months alongside details of training and events in your area.

Rethinking social housing workshops

It’s a crucial time for the social housing sector. Our housing crisis is as severe as it has ever been, the tragedy at Grenfell has thrust social housing into the spotlight and the government’s position on housing and its approach to the social housing sector in particular, has changed significantly in recent months.
But what is the role and purpose of social housing today? What do people think social housing should be? What is the real value of social housing to society? How can providers make sure their work is relevant and responsive to the peoples’ housing needs? And how can government support social housing to maximise its potential to provide many of the solutions to our housing crisis?
These and other fundamental questions lie at the heart of Rethinking social housing.
Rethinking social housing puts the sector in the driving seat and combines original research and engagement with the sector, tenants, politicians and the public to explore fundamental questions about the future of social housing.

We are pleased to announce that with help from the Northern Housing Consortium, we are holding a series of FREE workshops throughout the North East, North West and Yorkshire and Humberside throughout January and February.

Details of dates, venues and times can be found by following the link below. You also book your space directly with the Northern Housing Consortium.

If you would like any further details on these events or the project, please contact your Regional Manager- Stephanie Kelley at
