How to... make the case for tackling tenancy fraud

Description

In September 2012 we published How to... tackle tenancy fraud, setting out the practical measures that housing providers should take to prevent, detect and take action against tenancy fraud. This guide supports that publication and is intended to help housing associations to make the case for tackling tenancy fraud and to get started.

It acknowledges that recognising the need for action and securing buy-in can be one of the most substantial barriers to tackling tenancy fraud and has been written to address the concerns expressed by some housing providers and to demonstrate through good practice examples the potential benefits of taking action.
