The case for local authority investment in rented homes to help drive economic growth

Lets get building

Description

A new report jointly produced by CIH, LGA, ARCH, CWAG and NFA which makes the case for allowing local authorities to raise loans to build more homes. The report estimates that local authorities could deliver up to 60,000 homes over five years.

The report states that if government is serious about building new homes it should remove councils' borrowing restrictions. A summary of the report is also available.
