CIH Level 4 Certificate in Managing Responsive Repairs (QCF)

This course will allow learners to broaden their knowledge and understanding of the key issues in delivering housing maintenance management services. It is comparable to a Level 4 NVQ.

Aims & outcomes

On completion of this course, learners will:
  • possess the necessary skills and knowledge to support their progression to management level in housing, becoming a more reflective practitioner
  • have increased knowledge of contract procurement, mobilisation and ongoing contract administration for responsive repairs
  • understand performance management processes in a responsive repairs context
  • have a broader knowledge in a selected area of specialism such as financial management, health and safety or customer care

Eligibility

This course is suitable for learners who are:
  • working at or aspiring to a supervisory or management level in a housing maintenance or repairs role
  • aged 18+

Qualification outline

All students complete the following units:
  • Professional practice skills for housing
  • Procurement and contract adminstration for responsive repairs
  • Performance management for responsive repairs 

In addition, students complete three of the following optional units. The units offered may vary depending on the delivery centre.

  • Financial management for repairs and maintenance
  • Health and safety for repairs and maintenance
  • The delivery of housing services
  • Managing people
  • The legal framework for repairs and maintenance
  • Sustainable repairs and maintenance
  • Customer care in a housing services context

The qualification has a credit value of of 36 under the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF).
