My Description

Find out more about the organisations who have completed the programme and the lessons that they learned during the process.

There is now an opportunity for up to 3 participants from your organisation to learn how to use the materials and approach behind the ‘Stepping up to Scrutiny’ programme to deliver the programme to tenants, colleagues and councillors/board members who need to learn about, or improve their understanding and practice of, tenant scrutiny.

This opportunity is fully-subsidised by the Scottish Government and attendance is completely free!

Those attending this two-day course should have a direct link to providing underlying support for tenant scrutiny activity within your organisation. Participants must already have a good appreciation of tenant scrutiny as this course is aimed at preparing learners to train others in implementing robust tenant scrutiny. This can of course include tenants with either direct experience of participating in scrutiny, or who have a good understanding of the concept of scrutiny, and who would be confident to deliver training to others.

Although not essential, it would be beneficial if participants had some experience of delivering training as this is not intended as a general training skills course. The focus of the sessions will be on understanding and using the materials developed for the Stepping Up to Scrutiny Programme and not on developing training skills as such.

Every participant will receive a training pack including materials for all five core sessions in the SU2S programme. These are:

  • Tenant workshops days 1 and 2
  • Staff workshop – 1 day
  • Board councillor workshop – ½ day
  • Scrutiny in action – planning workshop – 1 day

The two-day course will cover all the programme materials and how to use them along with information on how to gather and use performance data to support delivery of the SU2S programme.
