CIH Cymru is once again leading the search for the rising star of Welsh housing

CIH Cymru is pleased to announce the launch of Rising Stars Cymru – New Housing Professional 2016, a unique opportunity available to anyone working or studying in Welsh housing, either in a paid or voluntary role for less than three years. The competition will showcase, recognise and celebrate the successes of staff, students and tenants at an early stage of their career who are keen to expand their networks (and horizons!) and make a positive contribution to neighbourhoods and communities in Wales.

Now in its 5th year, the competition provides a fantastic platform to showcase the talent and commitment of housing professionals. We are particularly looking for candidates who:

    • have personally achieved outstanding success within their organisation within a relatively short period of time working in the sector
    • taken personal responsibility and initiative for their career and professional development
    • demonstrated that they are passionate and driven about housing, and committed to ethics and professional standards for working in the sector

The competition offers a range of exclusive money can’t buy prizes and opportunities.

The tasks and challenges begin early in 2016:

    • Site visit: Showcase your day to day activity during a judges visit to your workplace
    • Blogs: Two 500 word blogs on the CIH website, one before and one during TAI 2016
    • Twitter takeover: host a one hour session on a housing-related topic of your choice
    • TAI 2016: Presentation during plenary sessions at Wales’ premier housing conference and exhibition

We are pleased to announce that our 3 Rising Stars Cymru finalists for 2016 are:

    • Louise Kingdon, Melin Homes
    • Donna Williams, NPT Homes
    • Jamie Roberts, Newport City Homes

    Winners prize:

    • Free 12 month CIH membership
