Residents of social housing have an increasing influence over how their homes are managed, and the best housing organisations know that listening and responding to the views and experiences of their customers are vital to their success.
Tenant membership enables tenants to keep up-to-date with the latest developments likely to affect their homes, develop their skills and knowledge and increase the contribution they can make to their communities. If, as a tenant, you are already involved with your local housing organisation, tenant membership will help you to develop your knowledge further and increase your involvement. For housing organisations, tenant membership can strengthen the work of your tenant forums.
CIH tenant membership is available to tenants and residents at the discounted rate of £60 pro rata for 2019. (This discount only applies to people who are not in paid employment.)
In addition to joining a network of members, tenant members will receive a range of benefits including:
- information and advice on good practice in relation to how housing services are managed
- opportunities to learn and gain qualifications to recognise excellence in areas such as tenant participation and scrutiny
- access to a network of other tenants both locally and across the UK
- all the member benefits standard membership offers, click here to access them
