Domestic Abuse: Indicators for housing professionals
Housing professionals, in their variety of roles, come into contact with our tenants and customers on a daily basis. In these roles, they may be coming into contact with victims of domestic abuse and not be aware of it or not be confident in identifying signs of domestic abuse.
This half day course is a great introduction for housing professionals wanting to build up their knowledge of what domestic abuse is, what signs may be apparent and how it impacts on a person experiencing it. The learning will help you to identify risk factors and how to refer these.
You will also learn about safety planning and the services available through out Northern Ireland.
- types of abusive behaviours;
- the signs and indicators of DA and the impact these have on the victim;
- the Pathway for referring to DA support services;
- the DA support services that exist in Northern Ireland.
Who should attendFrontline housing staff, their managers and other service providers who may be coming into contact with victimes of domestic abuse.
