Designing constructive challenge

28 June 2017

Constructive challenge

Delivered in partnership with Central Consultancy and Training, this series of masterclasses is designed for experienced leaders and managers who wish to continue their professional development, led by a senior consultant with solid experience and recognised expertise. Aimed at high performers, these masterclasses are challenging, fast paced and stimulating to take part in.

What is this masterclass about?

How comfortable is the executive and non-executive relationship in your organisation? How effectively do the seemingly contradictory elements of challenge and trust sit together?

This masterclass draws on thinking around the relationship between trust and constructive challenege, and the contribution that effective, open and inquisitive dialogue can make to improving both rigour and relationships at the top of organisations. It considers how effective working between executive and non-executive contributes to organisational leadership that really is greater than the sum of it's parts. A combination of reflective practice, team teaching, rapid think-outs and input provides a buoyant and stimulating base for participative sessions.

Who is it for?

The masterclass is designed for experienced leaders and managers.

Who is the facilitator?

Dr Mairi McLean DBA, MA Social science & Pschology, CQSW. Mairi's expertise is in management and leadership. With 27 years senior management experience behind her, she has worked with boards, trustees and politicians. Previously a local authority CEO, chair of a ministerial task force, and a board member of Network Rail she is currently chair of an NHS Trust.
