Delivering Financial Inclusion Strategies

The CIH has developed a new programme to support the development of really excellent Financial Inclusion Strategies in Housing Organisations.

The programme will examine the main elements of a Financial Inclusion Strategy and how such strategies can be successfully implemented. By the end of the programme participants will be able to take stock of existing approaches to Financial Inclusion, set objectives for the future, develop strategies and plans to reach those objectives and, most importantly, act to implement these plans.

How is the programme structured?

This unique programme has two elements. Element one is a two day training programme examining the issues you need to address when designing and implementing a Financial Inclusion Strategy in your organisation. Element two involves the production of a report which will help you think through putting the course into practice within your organisation. You will have a personal tutor for the period when you are producing your report, once submitted your report will be assessed and successful candidates will receive a certificate stating that they have met the requirements of the CIH Financial Inclusion Award. You will have four weeks to submit you finished report, you should expect to set aside around 30 hours for research and writing this submission. Once you are accepted onto the course we will make some suggestions about preparatory reading which you could do before the programme, reducing the time required in the four weeks after the programme.

Who is the programme suitable for?

If you are taking the lead in your organisation on this topic you will find this programme invaluable as a way of ensuring that you take full advantage of the opportunities for your organisation to build really productive relationships with partners which significantly impact on the wellbeing of the communities you serve.

We will not be formally assessing the previous experience or qualifications on your application for the programme. As a guide the award is at Level 5 so the programme is suitable for people with previous experience of writing reports for management boards or who have complete a qualification such as a level 4 (HNC, level 7 in Scotland) or higher level.

As a CIH Member will I get CPD Points?

If you are a CIH member you will automatically be awarded 15 hours of CPD for this programme.
