POSITIVE ACTION FOR DISABILITY

Earlier this year Government published the Equality Bill scheduled for introduction in 2010. The bill strengthens the law to support progress on equality and diversity issues and is likely to put public sector organisations under even more scrutiny.

CIH has introduced Positive Action for Disability to help organisations involved in planning and managing social housing to create more opportunities for disabled people to pursue careers in housing.

MANIFESTO - MAKING A DIFFERENCE

It is our belief that access to decent, affordable housing in safe, prosperous places that respect the environment really makes a difference to individuals, families and communities in the East Midlands. Our priorities are:

  • Increased access to homes which are affordable to rent and buy;
  • Addressing the housing and support needs of an ageing population, and;
  • Sustainable and cohesive communities in relation to migrant workers, community safety and worklessness.
