BUILDING BRIGHTER FUTURES

The Councillors' Guide to Housing Associations (South West)

What they do, why they matter and how they can help local authorities tackle some of the region's toughest challenges.

This booklet published jointly by CIH and the National Housing Federation highlights how housing associations and local authorities are working together to transform neighbourhoods by providing not only high quality homes but also a huge range of services and specialist support tailored to local people's needs.

POSITIVE ACTION FOR DISABILITY

Earlier this year Government published the Equality Bill scheduled for introduction in 2010. The bill strengthens the law to support progress on equality and diversity issues and is likely to put public sector organisations under even more scrutiny.

CIH has introduced Positive Action for Disability to help organisations involved in planning and managing social housing to create more opportunities for disabled people to pursue careers in housing.
