Working together to achieve our shared vision

We have a clear purpose at settle - to help people who are struggling to find a place to live; to help them stay in their homes comfortably to live the lives they choose.

Our commitment at settle is for the long-term - to our colleagues, residents, communities and the sector. We want settle to be a place where colleagues love to work, where our commitment to delivering our social purpose shines through and guides all that we do so that we can deliver our ambitions for residents.

Learning from each other

We are excited about the chance to learn from other likeminded organisations who share the Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH) vision. As a newly invested CIH supporter, we have a great opportunity to work with colleagues across the sector to champion that vision. Also making sure that the issues which are important to us continue to be at the forefront of CIH's work.

If we want to deliver great services to residents we need to invest in our colleagues and the social housing sector. Our relationship with the CIH helps us embed professionalism, knowledge and behaviours across both our organisation and the housing sector. We weave 'the settle way' behaviours into everything we do and now have the added alignment of the seven CIH professional standards characteristics.

At settle, we see the work with the CIH as an important part of our response to the challenge from the Social Housing White Paper – ensuring that residents have landlords they can trust, who treat them with respect, listening and acting on what we hear. Becoming a supporter of CIH allows us to continue to work together to deliver and develop projects like the professional standards. Importantly it also allows colleagues to understand the relevance of the sector for all and not just those who are in housing or customer facing roles.

We look forward to continuing to champion the housing sector with the CIH giving residents even more confidence in settle, driving positive change across the sector and continually learning and growing.
