As we reach the end of 2025, we’re taking a moment to reflect on our growth and collaboration across CIH Ireland.
Our membership grew by 14 per cent this year, bringing our total to 783. We were delighted to welcome new members and are encouraged by the increasing interest in professional standards and shared learning across the sector.
In September, we introduced the Level 3 Certificate in Housing Services, which is broadly equivalent to a Level 5 on the QQI framework. The response has been extremely positive, with learners highlighting the programme’s practical, accessible approach and its relevance to everyday housing practice.
Throughout the year, we delivered 11 CPD events, offered both online and in person, supporting members to stay connected and continue building skills. We also introduced a new bespoke training programme, with sessions covering customer care, an introduction to social and affordable housing, managing anti-social behaviour, and sustaining tenancies. These sessions were developed to directly support frontline professionals and organisational development needs.
In June, we partnered with The Housing Agency to co-host a careers workshop at the International Social Housing Festival. This event brought professionals from across Ireland and abroad together to explore what attracts and retains colleagues in the housing sector and to share insights on developing meaningful and sustainable career pathways.
We were also proud to collaborate with Women’s Aid on the Make a Stand campaign, advocating for the housing sector’s important role in supporting the safety and wellbeing of people experiencing domestic abuse.
Our Futures group also continued to engage with colleges across Ireland, promoting housing as a career of choice and helping to inspire the next generation of housing professionals.
‘Thank you’ to all our members and partners for your continued commitment to professional learning, good practice, and positive impact in housing. And ‘thank you’ to everyone who contributed to the work of CIH Ireland this year. We look forward to continuing to learn, collaborate, and support the sector in 2026.
