As we come out of the cold winter months into the brighter days of spring, it’s the perfect time to better yourself as a housing professional.

Whatever area you’re focussed on, we’ve got a brilliant range of events to boost your professional skills, industry knowledge and professional connections.

Understanding the sector

New regulation is constantly added in our busy sector, and we’ve made sure you’ve got the webinars to keep you up to date.

The session on Preparing for the Social Tenant Access to Information Requirements (STAIRs) will help you gear up for the implementation of STAIRs. This is essential for any housing providers to understand and, with speakers from the Housing Ombudsman Service, the National Housing Federation and CIH, it’s not a session you’ll want to miss!

One for residents rather than the providers, our webinar on Building Better Boards - Starting your journey as a tenant or resident board member will help you build confidence as you gain more responsibilities in the housing sector. You’ve already got the lived experience to make a difference – we’ll just give you the tools to go the extra mile!

Focussing on Ireland

Housing professionals across Ireland will be pleased to know that we’ve got several offerings focussed solely on the Irish housing sector.

First up is our free session on Supporting Housing Professionals in Applying the Core Principles of Trauma-Informed Care in Ireland and Northern Ireland. You’ll hear from Pauline Haynes on how to use psychologically informed approaches in your day job, making sure those you work with feel heard and understood.

Another webinar, exclusive to CIH members, will look at Bridging Cultures, Building Communities in Ireland and Northern Ireland. The experts will share their experiences with integrating different cultures into neighbourhoods. We know how important inclusivity is to housing professionals, so you’ll get practical insights and tools to strengthen the communities you work with.

Our biggest Ireland event in the spring is the highly anticipated All-Ireland Housing Awards on the 20 March. It’s a wonderful opportunity to recognise the teams and individuals in your area doing great work, and to connect with other dedicated housing professionals. Sharing our wins with others boosts housing as a sector and shows just how important all your hard work is!

Our signature housing festivals

Finally, we’ve got a host of exciting festivals that are sure to take the sector by storm. Our first two offerings are in quick succession, starting with Scotland’s Housing Festival on 3 March and moving onto the Northern Housing Festival on 17 March. Later on in the spring, our Welsh offering of TAI takes place on the 27 April and is followed by Housing Brighton on 6 May. These big housing events give you the opportunity to connect with other likeminded professionals in your area – together you can work to make the changes you want to see!

It’s easy to boost your housing career in the next few months by attending one (or more!) of our events. Become a member today to get full access to our events, recordings, and many more resources!
