Exploring CIH events: What's coming up in the summer

CIH has organised some great housing webinars and events for the summer. Whether you’re interested in policy, looking after tenants, or networking with your colleagues in the sector, we’ve got something for you. Make sure you book today to avoid disappointment, as some have limited places.

First up is a webinar that will give you invaluable insights into doing right by tenants and their health. A person-centred approach to fostering healthy and happy homes is essential, so our Asthma-friendly Homes and Services webinar will explore the benefits of working with health partners and listening to the data. Let our expert speakers guide you in your commitment to tenant wellbeing.

Just one day after is the webinar: The Future Homes Standard: Implications for Housing Delivery. Jack Allen of Building Energy Experts and Matthew Scott of CIH will delve into the details of the newly published standard, discussing how it will affect the housing sector on its implementation in March 2027. Building low-carbon heating and solar panels into most new homes is a big step forwards for environmental sustainability and the cost of living, so it’s important that we get it right. This member-only webinar will provide you with framework for auditing your compliance and planning the transition, as well as practical solutions for increased building costs and the further expected changes to Energy Performance Certificates. You’ve been planning this for a while, and we’re here to help guide you along the way. The next webinar is perfect for board members, those working in resident engagement or community involvement, and anyone interested in equality, diversity and inclusion. Building Better Boards: Ethnic minority voices in tenant engagement will focus on how we can identify and remove barriers that prevent tenants from ethnic minorities from engaging with landlords. We not only have a responsibility to create an environment where tenants feel listened to – we also need to make sure they feel comfortable speaking up in the first place. If your current engagement structure is falling short for those from ethnic minorities, our speakers will draw on their lived experience to offer some practical steps for change.

For Northern Irish housing professionals, the free in-person event: Housing Connected: Accelerate Your Career will be a wonderful opportunity to learn and network. Unlike many of our other housing events, this conference is free for both members and non-members, so make sure you book your ticket while places last!
