We understand that flexibility and balance are key to doing your best work. That’s why we embrace agile working — empowering our colleagues to choose how, when, and where they work best. Our approach supports a healthy work–life balance while encouraging collaboration, creativity, and productivity.
Based on the outskirts of Coventry in the heart of the Westwood Business Park, our collaborative office space offers a range of facilities to support different working styles and needs. Whether you need to get your head down in one of our solo pods, have a one-on-one chat in our booths or have a team brainstorming session in our open theatre seating area we offer plenty of ways of working all under one roof.
Many of our colleagues choose to work in the office full or part time so you’ll never be short of someone to bounce ideas off or just have some of that social contact we all need. With our central location we have easy bus and train links and we also offer free parking so no more charges for just going to work!
We embrace hybrid working and encourage everyone in CIH to work from a location that suits them whilst meeting business needs, meaning if you need to occasionally work in a coffee shop, at home, or from a different office, you have the option to do so as long as you meet the requirements of your role.
Our need for collaborative working means that there will be times when you are required to go to your local office, another CIH office, or another location such as a CIH event. Depending on your role, this may be more or less often. Your contracted office will usually be the CIH office that is the closest to where you live.
If you have any questions about our hybrid working policy or if you live more remotely, please contact us to ask how this would work in practice for the role you are applying for.
As well as flexibility of working location, we recognise that it can sometimes be helpful to flex working hours. Dependent on your individual role and the needs of the business, it may be possible for you to choose to organise your day so that you work around various commitments (such as school runs, health appointments, etc.), sometimes working later in the evening or earlier in the morning to achieve your objectives and daily tasks.
Full-time colleagues get 25 days holiday a year, plus eight bank holidays, and three additional days over Christmas. Colleagues also have the opportunity to purchase additional holiday days each year.
All time off is pro-rated for part time and condensed-hours colleagues replace with If you’re part time your holiday will be pro-rated based on your hours worked.
Emma Elston, content marketing manager at CIH
No day is the same in my role. I’m one of the remotest colleagues at CIH (in Devon) so most of my time is spent working from home, but I do get the chance to meet with my team regularly in person the year and at our daily virtual meetings. One day I might be writing an article on our upcoming events and on another, a new legislation. What I love most is the range of content creators at CIH, it's not all about solo copywriting, I work with teams across the business and am always meeting to chat through the next big topic.
As someone who lives in rural Devon, I love the fact that I’ve been given the opportunity to work for a national company. Career opportunities don’t come around very often where I’m from – particularly those with good benefits and an ethical cause – but working for CIH means I get the best of both worlds - being able to live in my hometown, but also have a career that makes an impact.
