Empowering housing to make a stand against domestic abuse

Join us during the 16 Days of Activism to explore how approved housing bodies, local authorities, and support organisations can better work together to prevent and respond to domestic abuse effectively across Ireland.

Domestic abuse impacts individuals, families, and communities — and housing providers have a vital role to play in providing safety and support. This session will share powerful examples of best practice and how collaboration is driving change and saving lives.

You’ll learn about:

  • The responsibilities of housing organisations in addressing and responding to domestic abuse.
  • How housing organisations can strengthen their policies and responses.
  • Best practice examples from across Ireland and beyond
  • The “Make a Stand” campaign and how to get involved.

Your speakers:

  • Sarah Benson, CEO, Women's Aid
  • Phillip Morrison Gale, CEO, Cill Dara Housing Association
  • Stephanie Morphew, policy lead, CIH
  • Chair: Alexandra Gibson, content and production manager, CIH and lead associate, Addressing Domestic Abuse (CIC)
