Advanced alternatives to hard wired systems and a gateway to new services

Find out what is involved in installing WiFi, how to use it to transition from a hard wired system, and explores potential new services that can be introduced for the benefit of both landlord and resident.

Why attend?

The introduction of WiFi into both communal areas and residents homes provides a huge opportunity to completely reimagine how many housing services can be delivered.  It facilitates higher levels of digital engagement amongst residents and makes other services, like video door entry, video calling, smart devices and CCTV, far more cost effective.

Furthermore, Digital Switchover, taking place in 2025, has significant implications for how housing providers operate their services, especially for hard wired systems in sheltered and supported housing. WiFi offers housing providers a far lower cost route to delivering services for older people into sheltered and supported housing, including services that are more proactive, and deliver outcomes that improve housing provider efficiency too.

What will I learn?

  • What is involved in installing WiFi in both residents homes and communal areas
  • The extent to which WiFi can replace hard wired systems in sheltered and supported housing
  • How WiFi can deliver both operational efficiencies and enable a better service to residents
  • How to identify where the best returns on investment may be achieved
