Climate change is accelerating the frequency, duration, and intensity of extreme weather events like flooding, heatwaves, and wildfires. Boards have a vital role to play in ensuring their organisations are prepared for the harms these events can cause for homes and residents, but where do they start and how can they begin to understand the risks?
This webinar is designed to help board members across the UK and Ireland understand the risks associated with climate change, and obtain an understanding of how they can begin having conversations about how to mitigate them.
The webinar will also support board members to begin considering the wider economic and social impacts of climate change on their organisations. Central to these challenges is obtaining robust, relevant data on the impacts of climate change, and integrating this data and broader insights into internal decision-making processes, risk registers, and assurance frameworks.
The webinar will bring together the unique insights of sustainability and climate experts who also serve as board members at housing associations. They will share how they have been using their expertise and knowledge to help their colleagues and wider organisations get ahead of climate risk, and how you can do the same.
The session is aimed at:
Plus an any other individuals who support or scrutinise board-level decisions on risk, resilience, homes and residents, and who need a clearer understanding of how climate change should be considered within governance and assurance frameworks.
