What more can we do to make housing a career of choice?

Discover how sector leaders are developing professional pathways and engaging our future workforce.

Why attend?

We all want to see housing as a career of choice, and for the first time in years, housing is being discussed as a profession, with debate ongoing about how we enhance professional practice and encourage new talent into our sector.

But what does that look like in practice? What can landlords do to engage directly with the next generation of housing professionals? And what leadership do we need to see from the Scottish Government and our skills agencies to re-assert housing as a career of choice and raise our profile?

Join us at this event to hear from leaders across the planning, care and housing sectors about what they are doing to develop professional pathways and discuss the strategic steps we need to take to create a workforce development strategy for housing.

Your speakers

  • Donald MacAskill, chief executive, Scottish Care
  • Elkie Astley, interim director of corporate services, Loreburn Housing Association
  • Christina Cox, planning and building standards manager, Infrastructure, Stirling Council

Your chair

  • Callum Chomczuk, national director, CIH Scotland
