Exploring challenges and solutions for the housing sector to meet net zero carbon emissions

This event will help raise awareness of the role that housing can play in tackling the climate emergency. It will allow us to spark discussions on the challenges of transitioning to net zero for people living in new and existing homes across all tenures.

Why attend?

In light of the climate emergency, the Scottish Government has signalled their commitment to reaching net zero emissions by 2045. Working towards becoming a net zero nation will require significant cooperation and investment from individuals across all housing tenures.

We work towards energy efficiency and switching to low or zero-carbon homes. Scottish Housing Day represents an opportunity to discuss the role of housing in reducing carbon emissions and raise awareness of the challenges that transitioning to net zero will present through understanding the public’s views on climate change and how they see their role in tackling this.

Join us to discuss the key challenges that exist in transitioning to a net zero nation in the context of housing:

  • Hear from expert speakers on accommodation and climate change
  • Get the chance to meet other delegates to discuss practical challenges and solutions to decarbonising Scotland’s homes
  • Have the opportunity to engage with social and private landlords, developers, tenants and customers.

This event is aimed at anyone who works in housing and tenants/owner occupiers, to access information on the decarbonisation of homes as we work towards becoming a net zero nation.
