An interactive workshop for frontline housing staff

This workshop will explore practice examples from the updated guidance on integrating people seeking protection and refugees published by the Scottish Refugee Council and supported by CIH Scotland.

Why attend?

The asylum system managed by the Home Office doesn’t provide support beyond subsistence and for those who are recognised as refugees, the housing and social security systems can be difficult to navigate, and many have to go through the homelessness route to gain permanent accommodation. The housing sector has a key role to play in making sure people seeking protection and refugees get the support they need to feel safe at home and to participate in their communities.

This virtual event presents a great opportunity to hear from guest speakers about the key challenges that still exist in the asylum process and to have more in-depth discussions with other practitioners.

  • Hear from expert speakers
  • Get the chance to meet other professionals and discuss practical issues and solutions in facilitated discussion groups
  • Have the opportunity to share your own experience with others
